48 Hours in Italy’s City of Love

“O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?” – Shakespeare; Romeo and Juliet

We have all heard the quote, Romeo & Juliet is the iconic tragic romance story around the world. But where did Shakespeare get the idea for this extraordinary piece of literature?

Verona, Italy, the city of love. Acclaimed to be Italy’s fourth most visited city in the country, Verona has its fair share of tourists. So it is really worth the visit?

My answer – yes, yes, yes. After living in Southern Italy for a few months and traveling to Verona, it became my favorite city very quickly. In fact, I cut my plans to Venice short to spend another day hiking in Verona’s beautiful countryside. This city is fit for every type of person – the night lifer, hiker, kayaker, and strictly tourist-er.
